I'm completing my Bachelor of Education (Primary and Middle) with Honours, and this semester I'm required to keep up to date with reflections of my learning, understanding, and progress as I prepare for a research project, my final prac, and attempting to get a job.
These are my thoughts.
Intended Action: Spend time over the weekend brainstorming potential project topics to speak about on Monday
What Happened: Speaking with a friend on Thursday, and coming to understand the expectations of the internship, I was inspired to think outside of research in the classroom, and asked my boss at the school after-school care (same school I will be conducting my internship) whether I could possibly do my research in the context of OSHC, focusing on After-School care. We decided to both think about it and discuss it on Tuesday afternoon.
Comments: I need to have my topic completely decided by Wednesday morning, before class, non-negotiable. I reflect that I struggle with deciding on topics and themes for projects, for fear that it won’t be the best or very most appropriate topic, or that something better will come along. I need to be decisive!
